Claudia Matar de Brun is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist at the East Bay Mindfulness Center, bringing over two decades of personal and professional experience dedicated to supporting individuals, couples, and families. Claudia's multicultural background—with Lebanese, British, and Spanish roots—has deeply informed her understanding of family dynamics and enriched her therapeutic approach, making her particularly attuned to the nuances of multicultural relationships.

Claudia earned her Master's in Couple and Family Therapy from Alliant International University's California School of Professional Psychology in San Diego. She completed extensive clinical training, including over 700 hours in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). She also holds a Master's in Gestalt Psychotherapy from Gestalt Fritz Perls in Mexico, demonstrating her commitment to integrating diverse, evidence-based modalities. Claudia's additional training includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) for trauma-informed care.

Her therapeutic philosophy is rooted in compassion, cultural sensitivity, and the belief that all individuals have an innate capacity for emotional growth and healing. Claudia skillfully combines EFT, EMDR, CBT, Mindfulness and Gestalt techniques, tailoring her approach to each client's unique needs. She has substantial experience addressing issues such as trauma, relational difficulties, and eating disorders, and she has provided extensive support to underserved communities both in the U.S. and Mexico.

Claudia's professional journey was deeply influenced by her experience of 29 years of marriage and raising three young adults, which sharpened her empathetic and relational skills. Her ability to navigate complex emotional landscapes with warmth and clarity makes her a trusted guide for clients striving to strengthen relationships, overcome emotional distress, and achieve meaningful change.

Claudia is fluent in English and Spanish and offers a bilingual therapeutic environment, enabling culturally diverse individuals and couples to express themselves fully and authentically. Passionate about the work of EFT pioneer Dr. Sue Johnson, Claudia continues advancing her expertise through ongoing professional development and EFT certification pathways.

At the East Bay Mindfulness Center, Claudia remains dedicated to fostering deep emotional connections, enhancing relational harmony, and promoting mindful living, helping her clients build more fulfilling lives and relationships.
