Mindful Recovery Group
This is a weekly coed group for individuals who are dedicated to being abstinent and mindful in daily recovery. Participants will learn how to transcend various forms of addiction while discovering a new found freedom, integrity, and joy in the now. In mastering mindful recovery skills, participants can transmigrate out of the realm of Samsara (the circuitous cycle of sobriety and relapse that leads to suffering, pain, and negative consequences).
Topics and Activities Include:
Topics will include:
1.Integrating Acceptance Commitment Therapy (the ACT model) and other
mindfulness-based strategies.
2.Implementing value-driven action steps, cognitive flexibility, and present-centered
awareness.
3.Coping with life stressors while maintaining sobriety.
4.Learning to love and accept yourself for your own sake and everyone else’s sake.

5.Changing your relationship to self, others, family, and work while sober.
6.Improving your ability to self-regulate, co-regulate, and manage triggers.
7.Applying Self-Leadership skills (and the Internal Family System model) to recovery.
8.Realizing your unfulfilled dreams and desires while sober.

Eti Valdez-Kaminsky, MFT has been a licensed private practice therapist for over 20 years. He has a MS in Clinical Psychology from SFSU and has years of experience working with individuals, couples and families, and groups for adults. Eti integrates multiple psychotherapeutic theories and mindfulness based coping skills into his therapy style. Eti is the Clinic Director of East Bay Mindfulness Center and Clinical Coordinator of Samsara Recovery Center. He has offices in Berkeley and Orinda.
